Be cautious of the reviews for this place; particularly the ones that don't give too much detail.nnIt wasn't super easy to find and the street parking was limited. This spot is more of a takeaway counter than a full-fledged restaurant; think small corner shop with a couple of tables squeezed in. The food is okay, but in my opinion, it doesn’t quite justify the price. That said, they are very generous with their portion sizes.nnThe queso blanco was quite tangy; not to everyone’s taste. On the upside, the beef empanadas were good; well-seasoned but not for those watching their cholesterol. The fresh juice was decent, but extremely sweet, so something to be mindful of if you prefer a lighter drink.nnThis isn’t the kind of place where you’d want to sit down and catch up with someone. It’s much more suited for a quick pick-up-and-go snack.

I have known this place for years and the have changed their service to take away but the quality has remained the same.i am still a customer an have never had a bad experience there. I do not review food , I just know what I like. I will continue to be a customer there.

It’s a small house with a little eating area to the front. It’s not air conditioned. It was so hot and stuffy in there when we stopped for breakfast. The pictures posted by previous reviewers are a bit dated as the true dining area is not as pictured at all.nnHopefully the establishment is honest enough to update its own pictures to reflect the reality of the restaurant. The burglar proofing all around may be a bit concerning for some.nnService was non-existent - one young Venezuelan woman who barely understood English and we had to keep calling out to her to get anything.nnNow to the food - tequenos were fresh and tasty though the dough tasted a bit yeasty or fermented. I’ve had tequenos in Colombia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Panama, Caracas, Guatemala and Miami from several Venezuelan restaurants - I’ve never had them taste fermented or yeasty like this. I’m not sure if it was a reflection of the age of the cheese or how long the dough had been prepared and/or stored.nnThe empanadas were drenched in oil. The beef was tasty but the oiliness of the dough was a turn off. It was soaking in oil. The plantain and cheese empanadas were okay but too little plantain.nnThe cheese cachapa had a slight aftertaste of bitterness and I wonder if it needed to be cooked more because the batter was a bit sticker than it should be.nnEverything was salty. The dipping sauce, the carne molida, the cheese and the cachapas.nnTrinidadians have been exposed to quality and authentic Venezuelan cuisine for decades with a huge increase in popularity in the last 5-10 years. We are familiar with the variety and tastes and flavours and are well aware of when something is made below standard and inconsistent with food we have been introduced too. Salty and oily don’t require any kind of expertise in Venezuelan cooking.nnWon’t recommend. Try Taryn’s if you want fresh tasty Venezuelan cuisine.

The food was excellent, they had fresh fruit juice, the service was pretty quick and the atmosphere is very pleasant. A great hidden spot for lunch, must visit!

Very good
